“Have a gas!” theatrical tour

Something is cooking at the Industrial Gas Museum of Athens!

Through a novel theatrical tour led by an actor, the factory, which provided the city of Athens with energy and lighting for 130 years, comes to life. A unique historical site of great industrial heritage becomes a living museum where the buildings, the streets, the machinery and their surroundings become the natural setting of this walking tour, enriched with theatre performance.

We will experience a fascinating time travel as our expert guide breathes life into various characters and their stories from the factory’s foundation in the 1850s, until today. Following the gas production line from coal loading to gas measurement and its technological advances, we stimulate our senses: we smell the factory’s odors, we listen to people’s stories, we get in touch with the old machinery and we admire the historical treasures of the gas world.
